Sheba George is a Global Development Policy Consultant and Advocate.
In her capacity as a Policy Consultant, she advises international organizations and national governments in developing multi-sectoral public policies including in the sectors of poverty reduction, education, climate, gender equality, and health. She has worked with major international organizations in the development sector, including the United Nations and the European Commission, and has advised national governments of countries across Europe, the Middle East, and the Global South.
In her role as an Advocate, Sheba works in coordination with local government and civil society actors for the socio-economic empowerment of marginalized communities, particularly focusing on the refugee and asylum-seeking populations. She has previously worked in liaison with the Youth Assembly and the World Economic Forum to facilitate the development and representation of marginalized communities at national and international forums.
As a proponent of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Sheba has delivered ‘Calls to Action’ at several inter-governmental and multilateral forums including for the G7 as an Ambassador of the Women’s Forum for Economy and Society and for the Global Partnership for Education as an Advocate for refugees’ education rights. Sheba has also authored multiple publications on topics of foreign policy, global development, and development finance.
Sheba holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Germany, a Certification in Media and Politics from Northwestern University in Qatar, and a Bachelor of Science in International Foreign Service from Georgetown University in the U.S.
