AFS Prize for Young Global Citizens

The AFS Prize for Young Global Citizens recognizes recognizes young people for their commitment to improving the global community and whose actions contribute to a more just, peaceful, and tolerant world. The winner will receive $10,000, and two additional $2,500 prizes will be awarded to the runners up. The Prize will be awarded to an individual who:

  • Demonstrates how their project is successfully addressing a pressing global issue, tackling one or more of the challenges outlined by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and what this translates into in real-life impacts.
  • Shows how their project successfully engages others outside their own community/culture and how this aspect is crucial to advancing their work. Projects must rely on intercultural understanding and global competence.
  • Articulates how their initiative has significant potential to be scaled up and extended.

Become a 2022 Youth Assembly Ambassador

Are you a student or young professional who would like to be a pioneer in your community, help youth have a voice at the global stage and represent the mission of The Youth Assembly? Then apply to become an Ambassador for the 27th Youth Assembly taking place in August of 2022 in NYC! Selected Ambassadors will:

  • Serve as an Ambassador for a one-year term
  • Receive a Certificate of Recognition for your dedication and work
  • Get access to discounts and fee waivers for The Youth Assembly
  • Disseminate information regarding Youth Assembly programs and campaigns
  • Nominate youth to become delegates at The Youth Assembly
