Yashraj (Yash) Chavda is a student at the University of Western Ontario for Political Science. He is extremely passionate about politics and its interactions with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In the future, he plans to pursue law degree and lead a political/social entrepreneurship career.
Currently, He is working on two key projects: First, he is working with a team to advocate for further regulations concerning microfinance in developing countries. Stricter regulations would allow for countries and their citizens to work towards reducing impoverishment rates through ethical and productive practices (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth).
In addition, he is working with an organization called Change for X, which, in partnership with Unity Project, helps provide relief for homelessness in the City of London (SDG 1 & 2: No Poverty/No Hunger). Previously, his team has worked with various charities to advocate and fund projects in relation to equality and inclusivity. Overall, his experiences with the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation and the 23rd session of the Youth Assembly have allowed me to further my knowledge and develop connections and make progress on both projects.
