“The AFS Youth Assembly is a transformative platform for young leaders to unite, share ideas, and work together towards solving global issues.”
Meaza is an Ethiopian young leader who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Business by recognizing the importance of combining her passion for environmental sustainability with the skills necessary to drive change on a global scale.
Meaza’s journey towards global change began with her involvement in various organizations. Her work at The Youth Print, a local youth-led NGO focused on climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability, has allowed her to advocate for SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), raising awareness about the urgent need to address climate change.
Her commitment to global change was further recognized when she was selected as an African United Nations Youth Fellow for 2023. This program, implemented by the UN Association of Ethiopia and CRISP, allows her to actively contribute to the achievement of the SDGs by 2030.
With her knowledge and experience gained from the 28th AFS Youth Assembly, where she participated in the climate entrepreneurship track, she is equipped with the skills to founding, leading and financing climate-focused startups, contributing to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG 13 (Climate Change).
As an AFS Youth Ambassador of Ethiopia, she continues to inspire and empower young people to take action towards global change through fostering collaboration and driving meaningful impact towards the achievement of the SDGs. Her dedication and passion for creating a sustainable future makes her a true catalyst for change.
