Nominations are now closed for the Distinguished Alumni Friend of Humanity Award

The story of the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation began over sixty years ago and is now made up of thousands of individuals who have gone on to positively impact humanity. Even in the short time I’ve been with the organization, I’ve met numerous individuals who partook in one of the FAF programs that are making a significant difference in the world, and there are many more. We feel that it’s important to recognize and honor these leaders and changemakers.

I am very pleased, therefore, to announce that for the first time, we are seeking nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Friend of Humanity Award. This award represents an exciting opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements of individuals who have partaken in our programs, from our culture exchange initiatives to our most recent flagship event The Youth Assembly. More than just the highest distinction in our community, being a Friend of Humanity is a noble responsibility to be a transformative force for good with the goal of understanding and caring for all people, especially those most in need.

A Friend of Humanity is someone who embodies our mission: an individual who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of people – those who need a helping hand the most. Furthermore, the individual is recognized as a true friend who understands and genuinely cares about the issues that people in vulnerable situations face. A Friend of Humanity possesses values of a global citizen and is persevering forward despite obstacles in order to help humans be better, do better, and live a more fulfilled and meaningful life with greater opportunities to succeed.

I invite you to nominate any FAF or The Youth Assembly alumnus whom you think possesses these unique characteristics. The recipient of the award will be invited as a guest of honor at the 25th Session of The Youth Assembly with opportunities to speak and be awarded at the plenary session, and be featured prominently on our communication platforms.

Stay tuned.

The next Youth Assembly is coming in August 2022!
