Jane Okafor is a third-year law student at Loyola Law School graduating May 2017 with an emphasis on International Law. She splits her time between school and working on her NGO, P3 in Nigeria. P3 does crucial grass-roots work through a combination of awareness-building in local communities, teaching the members rights, how to attain them, and directly lobbying on a political level.
Jane believes she represents a generation of youths, whose future must be secured through sustainable development. She believes that through building a crucial foundation of an aware and functioning community, will lead to the creation of a responsible and inclusive government.
Currently, her NGO is working with internally displaced persons in Nigeria, lobbying, providing basic amenities to people affected, while also creating workshops that provide women with opportunities to sell hand made items, creating a source of income for themselves.
