Aleksandra Plesko has been working in human rights advocacy with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) since 2010. Before moving to UNHQ in New York to work on sustainable development and human rights, she has worked at the OHCHR headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and in the OHCHR Regional Office for Southern Africa in Pretoria, South Africa. A political scientist by profession, Aleksandra has worked on numerous human rights issues, including promotion and protection of the rights of minorities, and mainstreaming human rights at national, regional, and global levels and processes, with the UN System, national authorities, and civil society representatives.
