AFS Intercultural Programs is seeking volunteers to support the implementation and organizing of the 28th AFS Youth Assembly, which will take place from August 11-13, 2023 in New York City. Find out more here.
The AFS Youth Assembly is a conference that brings together the world’s foremost young leaders and changemakers at the heart of global change. With an annual participation of up to 1,000 youth and as many as 100 countries represented, the AFS Youth Assembly is a global network of emerging leaders, social innovators, and advocates for sustainable development.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Help with the execution of The Youth Assembly program so as to create and maintain a superb experience for speakers and delegates in every session of the conference
- Engage with and assist conference speakers, offering them logistical support and guidance around the conference area
- Ensure rooms for events are perfectly prepared for each session
- Make sure the conference rooms are clean; assist with general management of the audience before, during and after sessions
- Maintain room capacity and check in delegates coming into your assigned room
- Handle any online or hard-copy materials needed by speakers in and out of the room in coordination with other team volunteers when necessary
- Support the implementation of activities and sessions that offer exciting opportunities for delegates at the conference
- Table opportunities during the conference; Set up and clean up tabling materials
- Report to the head of Programs and assist the Program Team or conference speakers during session activities as needed
- Assist main staff with other tasks as needed
