Join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience for speakers and delegates: As a Conference Sessions & Youth Development Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in the execution of the conference program, ensuring that each session runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impact on participants. This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with conference speakers, assist in logistical arrangements, and contribute to the overall success of the event.
AFS Intercultural Programs is seeking volunteers to support the implementation and organizing of the 29th AFS Youth Assembly, which will take place from August 16-18, 2024 in New York City. The AFS Youth Assembly is a conference that brings together the world’s foremost young leaders and changemakers at the heart of global change. With an annual participation of up to 1,000 youth and as many as 100 countries represented, the AFS Youth Assembly is a global network of emerging leaders, social innovators, and advocates for sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with conference speakers to provide logistical support and guidance.
- Prepare and maintain event spaces to ensure they are perfectly prepared for each session.
- Manage room capacity and delegate check-in processes.
- Assist in the setup and cleanup of tabling materials to showcase opportunities for delegates.
- Support the implementation of activities that enhance the delegate experience.
- Report to the head of Programs and assist the Program Team or conference speakers during session activities as needed.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to contribute to the overall success of the conference.
