We are proud to release the inaugural Impact Report, which presents the outcome of action-oriented initiatives – the Pathways to Impact program and the Impact Challenge.

During the Friendship Ambassadors’ flagship Youth Assembly, Impact Challenge competitions are hosted to promote a culture of innovation among young people through social entrepreneurship. The competition, which started in 2018, received 200 applications in its first year and selected 9 winning projects from 7 different countries.

The Impact Challenge has partnered with Space Chain, Impact Hub NYC, Jump Foundation, and Global Changemakers in providing seed funding, mentorship, and resources to the winners.

After taking part in the Youth Assembly, delegates who are looking to start their own projects are invited to apply for the Pathways to Impact program, which provides mentorship, guidance, and resources for aspiring social entrepreneurs. For its first year (2018-2019), the program generated and/or supported 87 youth-led projects, 45% of which are now fully operational. This demonstrates the strong potential of the program in sustaining youth-led activities at the local level and turning ideas into action after every Youth Assembly.

The report also highlights the importance of creating a thriving community of mutual support and knowledge exchange to promote collaborative action towards achieving global commitments such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Friendship Ambassadors has launched the Global Action and Impact Network in 2019, which is now comprised of six regional hubs including North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean.

These outcomes set the premise for the Friendship Ambassadors’ succeeding efforts as it joins the international community in accelerating sustainable solutions and mobilizing the youth for a Decade of Action.
