Gertrude has worked with multiple charities and organizations within international affairs including the ONE Campaign, Christian Aid, Child.Org, UNICEF, Restless Development, Amnesty International, UNDP Asia to mention a few. She has gained experience in the international development field which has empowered her as a young leader/changemaker to continually make an impact in society. For instance, working as a ONE UK youth ambassador between 2017 and 2019 gave her the opportunity to be involved in policy advisory concerning advocating for an increase in aid for girls’ education in Africa. Through interacting with UK Members of Parliament in the European Parliament (Brussels) in 2017, Gertrude was able to influence this increase in aid which was eventually implemented in 2018 by working hand in hand with other youth ambassadors. Her key involvement in projecting ONE UK’s campaign in her local community contributed to her feature on the Amnesty International UK’s Suffragette Spirit Campaign Map in March 2018 to celebrate women human rights defenders across the UK.
